There are two bills in each house fo the State Legislature that need our support:
SB 288 / HB 4552 that create shared authority to designate game species between the Legislature and the NRC, establish free hunting licenses for active military, and appropriate $1M for the DNR to use "TO
IMPLEMENT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR FISH AND GAME ANIMALS, AND
PERFORM RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND OUTREACH RELATED TO HUNTING,
FISHING, GAME ANIMALS, PREDATORS, AND PREY."
SB 289 and HB 4553 which declare that the citizens of Michigan have the right to "hunt, fish, and take game".
Please call your representatives and senators and ask them to support these bills and to keep the appropriation in SB 288 and HB 4552.
