Last year we started a Brochure for Convention. In it we had a Did you know: section. I am again looking for comments we can put in that section. Here is what we posted last year, and who posted them. If anyone has a thread they would like to post let'er rip.
In the state of Michigan you can not trap in the right-of-way (drainage ditches, rivers, and streams) of a road without permission from the land owner.
Traps must have a metal tag with either
your license # or your personal info
etched on it.
Trappers may use game animals and game birds or
their parts, lawfully taken and possessed as bait,
only during the open season for
those animals or birds.
Fur buyers in the state of Michigan can not trap Beaver.
Update: Sen. Tom Casperson is in the process of looking into this issue for us. I have personally spoke with him about it. Keep your fingers crossed and I will try to keep you all updated.
Joe V. or Velgang (on Michigan Sportsman’s)
In the state of Michigan teeth on traps are not legal.
