Coyote calling

Postby C Larsen » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:53 pm

Me and my friends have been going out trying to call coyotes. We are not seeing anything or geting any responses. Can someone please tell me what to do or not do. They are getting a little to bold coming into my yard and messing with my dog. They need to go.

Are you hunting the wind? If you walk in up wind of the yotes they probably won't come in. If they can get down wind of you while you are calling they are gone before you ever knew they are there. Hunt so that you will be able to see them and get a shot before they can smell you or position someone down wind of the call to intercept them before they smell you. Most of the time if you are not paying attention to where your scent is going you are just wasting your time.

It's a tough sport but when you get them to come in you will be totally hooked
